Education Data Matters 2018

Thank you to all the delegates who attended our Annual Summit on 14th March 2018 at NCVO in London. There was a European addition to the agenda this year, as we also welcomed the partner institutions of an Erasmus+ School Improvement Project that Learning Plus UK will be working on over the next 3 years. Delegates were provided with a brief overview of the project, to trial a European Grade Predictor Tool in the respective countries, and the Post-16 provision of each European partner organisation. Equally, and as in previous years, the summit provided a great opportunity to get an update on Learning Plus UK’s tools with workshops on how to get the most out of them, the latest policy updates, and the chance to network with other education professionals.

Our programme included sessions from the following three keynote speakers, who updated delegates on what’s happening at Post-16 and what changes to look forward to in 2018:

Linda Rose, DfE, Inspections and Accountability Team
2017 performance tables and beyond

Steve Tucker, Ofsted, HMI National Lead for 16 to 19 study programmes and further education curriculum quality
An update on Ofsted’s findings in 16 to 19 study programmes and Ofsted’s role in the post-16 sector

Amy Smith, UCAS, Senior Policy Executive
The changing admissions landscape: application trends and factors influencing admission to higher education

Our Erasmus+ School Improvement Project partners joined us from the following organisations:

• Centro de Formacion Professional Xabec, Spain
• Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board, Ireland
• Sataedu, Finland
• Zlínský kraj, Czech Republic
